tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27 the year 1976. He was raised in Southern California, and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California. He helped lead the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receiving nine receptions, and tied it. The following year, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Then he quit school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. The Chiefs sold Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL year, he caught no less than 59 passes every season.
