Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actress and producer known for the roles she performed as the character of Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and the television show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in the fields of theater, film and TV. She started her career as an actress in theatre but then proceeded to make appearances in numerous TV shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with critical acclaim but also numerous awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995, she was the first actress to make her debut in The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits are Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. Her film work is highlighted by her appearances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. In the world of television, her character on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
